Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AlienDev ("AlienDev," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with aliendev.com, related subdomains (including the customer portal at portal.aliendev.com), and other websites, applications, and services we operate (collectively, the "Services").

By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Our approach in plain terms

Any information you provide is used solely to deliver and support the Services you ask for—such as responding to an inquiry, building or maintaining a project, or operating a product feature you use. We do not use your information for advertising audiences, behavioral targeting, remarketing, lookalike audiences, or similar marketing practices.

In particular, we do not:

• Target or profile you for advertising
• Remarket to you based on your browsing or contact history
• Send unsolicited marketing emails
• Contact you over social media for solicitation or outreach campaigns
• Sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing

If we need to email or otherwise contact you, it will be because you asked us to (for example, through the contact form), or because it is reasonably necessary to provide or support a Service you are using.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you contact us or use account-related features, we may collect information such as:

• Name
• Email address
• Message content and project details you choose to share
• Account or portal credentials and related profile details, where a Service requires them
• Other information you voluntarily submit (for example, files or requirements for a client engagement)

Google account and Gmail data

Some AlienDev Services may ask you to connect a Google account using Google OAuth so the Service can read Gmail data you authorize. When you connect Google, we may receive:

• Basic Google account identifiers needed for sign-in and authorization (such as your Google account email and profile information returned by Google)
• OAuth tokens that allow the Service to call Google APIs on your behalf within the scopes you approve
• Gmail data available under the scopes you grant—typically read-only access (for example, message metadata, labels, and message content needed to provide the feature you enabled). We request only the narrowest scopes required for that feature.

We do not request Gmail access to send mail, delete mail, or permanently change your mailbox unless a specific Service clearly asks for those permissions and you approve them. For our Gmail read-only integrations, access is limited to reading the data needed to operate the feature.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our Services may automatically collect limited technical data when you visit, such as:

• IP address and approximate location derived from it
• Browser type, device type, and operating system
• Pages visited, referring URL, and timestamps
• Diagnostic or security logs needed to operate and protect the Services

We use this information to run, secure, and improve the Services—not to build advertising profiles or market to you.

Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies or similar technologies that are needed to operate the Services (for example, remembering theme preference) or to understand basic site usage so we can fix issues and improve reliability. Where third-party tools are enabled (such as HubSpot or Google Tag Manager), those providers may set their own cookies according to their policies.

We do not use cookies or tags for remarketing, interest-based ad targeting, or unsolicited outreach. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Services work.

3. How we use information

We use information only as needed to:

• Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services
• Respond to inquiries and communicate about projects or support
• Authenticate users and administer accounts or portals
• Operate Google / Gmail-connected features you enable (see Section 4)
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for marketing campaigns, promotional newsletters you did not request, social outreach, or advertising targeting.

4. Google user data and Gmail (Limited Use)

This section applies specifically to Google user data we receive when you authorize AlienDev Services to access your Google account or Gmail via OAuth (including Gmail read-only scopes).

How we access Google / Gmail data

Access occurs only after you complete Google's consent screen and grant the requested scopes. The Service then uses Google APIs (with your OAuth tokens) to retrieve the authorized data. You can refuse or revoke access at any time (see "Your choices" below).

How we use Google / Gmail data

Gmail and other Google user data are used solely to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in the Service you are using—for example, reading messages or mailbox information you asked the Service to process. We do not use Gmail data to:

• Serve advertising or build advertising audiences
• Remarket, retarget, or profile you for marketing
• Send unsolicited marketing email
• Contact you on social media for solicitation
• Train generalized AI / ML models in ways prohibited by Google's Limited Use rules
• Sell your Google user data

How we store Google / Gmail data

We store OAuth tokens and only the Gmail-related data needed to operate the feature (for example, cached message content or metadata required for processing you requested). Data is stored with reasonable security controls on infrastructure used to run the Services. We retain Google / Gmail data only as long as needed to provide the feature, honor your deletion or disconnect requests, or meet legal obligations—then delete or de-identify it.

How we share Google / Gmail data

We do not sell Google user data. We do not transfer Gmail data to third parties for their advertising or unrelated products. Sharing is limited to:

• Infrastructure and subprocessors that help us operate the feature (for example, hosting), under obligations consistent with this Policy and Google's requirements
• Cases required by law or to protect safety and security
• Situations where you direct us to share the data

Google Limited Use affirmation

AlienDev's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The use of information received from Google Workspace scopes will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. How we share information (generally)

We do not sell personal information. Aside from the Google / Gmail rules in Section 4, we may share information only in these limited situations:

• Service providers. Vendors that help us run the Services (for example, hosting, form processing, or site analytics infrastructure), under obligations to use the data only to perform services for us.
• Legal requirements. When we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or security.
• Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Privacy Policy or equivalent protections.
• With your direction. When you ask us to share information (for example, coordinating with a third party on your project).

6. Third-party services we rely on

Depending on the Service, we may use providers such as:

• Vercel — hosting and related infrastructure
• HubSpot — contact form submissions and related CRM/support tooling
• Google — Google OAuth / Gmail API for user-authorized mailbox features; optional Google Tag Manager for operational measurement (not for remarketing or ad targeting by us)

Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Links from our Services to third-party sites (for example, GitHub or Twitch) are not covered by this Privacy Policy; their practices are governed by their own policies. Google's handling of your account is described in Google's own privacy policy.

7. Client projects and customer data

When we build or host a project for a client, we treat project and end-user data as confidential and use it only as needed to deliver that engagement. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, we do not use client or end-user data for marketing, targeting, or unrelated purposes.

If a client site or product has its own privacy notice, that notice also applies to data collected there. This Policy covers AlienDev’s own Services and how we handle information in our role as operator or service provider.

8. Data retention

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal or operational requirements. Contact inquiries are typically retained as long as needed to respond and maintain a reasonable business record of the conversation. Google / Gmail data and OAuth tokens are retained as described in Section 4.

9. Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, including credentials and tokens used for Google API access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International visitors

We primarily operate from the United States. If you access the Services from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our providers operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws than your home country.

11. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. Your choices and requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

For Google / Gmail connections, you may:

• Disconnect the integration inside the AlienDev Service (where available), which stops further API access and allows us to delete or invalidate stored tokens and related Gmail data we no longer need
• Revoke AlienDev's access at any time in your Google Account under Third-party access

You can also stop optional communications by using any unsubscribe mechanism we provide, or by asking us directly. We do not send unsolicited marketing email in the first place.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
